Meet Our Team

President

Quentin founded the company in 1998 to help put himself through Simon Fraser University and later law school at the University of British Columbia.  15 years later it would grow into one of Vancouver's premier painting companies.  A self-proclaimed expert at workforce management and time tracking, Quentin can often be found at his other business, VeriClock – a fast-growing SaaS that offers virtual punch clocks.  But of course, when you really look at the data of how he spends his time, his wife and son get the lion’s share - as they should.

General Manager

Biaggio became the General Manager of the company in 2011, after spending over 5 years apprenticing in operations and sales under the mentorship of Quentin Miller and Josh Baran.  Born and bred in Vancouver, he has extensive ties to the Italian community and he strongly believes in giving back to local charities.  In his spare time he devotes himself to his musical pursuits.  He is a drummer and has been involved with the local music scene playing with several rock acts touring across western Canada.

Office Manager

So here comes the good news! Our office manager Monika had a boy!

Before she comes back from her maternity leave, Jessie will take care of the company finances, human resources, and operations support temporarily. Coming from a combination of Mongolian and Chinese culture, Jessie is hghly organized, detailed, helpful and energetic. In her spare time, She is crazy about workout, and food too!

So let's welcome Jessie on board, and also wait for Monika to come back with the beautiful little baby! Everybody here missed her a lot!

Sales/Project Manager
Project Foreman

Sean is Vanguard Painting's high production foreman and you can often see him marshalling a crew of 10 plus painters.  He has been with the company for close to 10 years.  He is an avid hockey fan so when the Ducks are in town you can expect to see him bumping heads with Canuck fans.  Outside of work, he likes spending time with his daughter and his wife.

Project Foreman

Jorge has been working with Vanguard for 6 years.  Whether in a boom lift, swing stage, or bosun’s chair, he is one of our top access experts.  In his spare time, he likes playing soccer and hanging out with his brother, friends and family.

Davide was already a highly skilled applicator when he joined the Vanguard team some 5 years ago.  Although he has continued to hone his own skills during his time, he has also been a real key player in training apprentice painters. When he is not in his painting whites, chances are you will find him in one of Vancouver's game stores.

Project Foreman

George is a highly skilled and motivated high-end painter. From the beginning, he has been working with our best painters learning and showing some real talent while working on his Red Seal. We are now proud to say he is one of our best painters himself. Outside work, George is a sought after hockey goalie and enjoys spending time with his wife Heather and their dog.

HR & Safety Consultant

The man behind the man, Michael "Pops" Miller, was also part of the company's early success by bringing his organizational skills and union rep background to bring order to chaos.  A former office manager with the company, he took a reduced role in 2012 to focus on his family and his health.  When he is not going on cruises around the world, you can find him answering the phones in the office during the summer.  An endless fountain of knowledge, he gives advice to our management team regarding anything HR, safety or WCB related.

Project Foreman

Ken, a third generation painter from Saskatchewan, has been with the company nearly 8 years and is one the company’s most experienced painters.  With over 40 years experience in the industry, this flat-lander can do anything from wood refinishing to industrial painting.  He remains best known for his role as foreman on the GM Place/Rogers Arena project.
